DakhariPsyc family,
Our ongoing commitment to you before, during, and now after the COVID-19 public health crisis has not wavered. There has been much sadness, uncertainty, and loss and we do not minimize the lingering impact. It has often been said that in each time of crisis there is also an opportunity awaiting. Psychologists have learned that during challenging times, that growth, resilience, and general positive outcomes are quite possible as well. We are pleased to provide in-person services for some or all of your sessions.
PLEASE NOTE: Some of our providers will be meeting via telehealth ONLY for an extended time. You will be informed if your request for a specific provider is one of our ‘telehealth only’ providers.
To obtain services in-person, you agree to take certain precautions which will help keep our patients, families, and providers/staff safer from COVID-19 exposure. The following guidelines are in place:
- You/Your child will only keep the in-person appointment if free of symptoms including fever, cough or other concerning symptoms.
- You/Your child will only keep the in-person appointment if fever free for a minimum of 3 days prior to the appointment.
- You/Your child will cancel the in-person appointment if you/your child have been in contact with someone who has tested positive within the last 7 days.
- You/Your child will wash hands or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer when you enter the building.
- You/Your child will adhere to the safe distancing precautions we have set up in the waiting and therapy rooms.
- If a resident of your home tests positive for COVID-19, you will immediately notify the office and we will then begin/resume treatment via telehealth, if appropriate. We can/will return to in-person once required safeguards/recommendations have been completed. The safeguards/recommendations/requirements will vary and will depend upon the unique circumstances of the exposure and local/state/CDC and professional safeguards/recommendations/requirements in place at the time.
PLEASE NOTE: *You refers to all individuals entering the building regardless of who is the actual patient.
Dakhari Psychological Services works to meet the needs of a diversity of individuals, including those that may be unable to receive a vaccination, have compromised health status, and/or are more sensitive/susceptible to illness. We take this responsibility seriously and are thankful for your cooperation. We greatly appreciate you doing your part to help ensure that all individuals of this practice have the opportunity to meet in a safe environment.
Dakhari Psychological Services may change the above precautions if additional local, state or federal orders or guidelines are published. If that happens, we will post any necessary changes.
We are pleased to provide you with online therapy, also known as, ‘Telehealth’ services and many individuals find therapy in this manner to be especially flexible and convenient.
Please note that you must be physically located in a state in which your provider is licensed to practice at the time of your session. There are a few exceptions. Please discuss any travel plans with your provider if they will coincide with the timing of your session.
In order to access HIPAA-compliant Telehealth services, you will be using our SimplePractice platform. SimplePractice is HIPAA compliant and HITRUST certified. The HITRUST framework is the gold standard of security certifications in the healthcare industry.

Telehealth Sessions: Equipment needs & FAQs
You may also find yourself questioning whether Telehealth is right for you. Some find the flexibility and convenience to be especially beneficial. Others note the advantages of meeting with a provider that may have been previously geographically too far to reach. Nevertheless, telehealth is not appropriate for all individuals or for all circumstances. There may be instances in which your provider will need to discuss with you making a short or perhaps longer-term change to in-person services. Feel free to speak with your provider about the fit of telehealth sessions for you and to review these articles of interest.
Patient Portal
Welcome to your MyDakhariPsyc patient portal. In the portal you will be able to review and complete important documents from your provider, share documents, securely message your provider, review appointment status, and manage other aspects of your care.
When participating in services via Telehealth you can also access the secure links to the session via your portal.
Is Art Therapy right for me?
Deciding if art therapy is right for you can depend on a number of factors, such as your individual needs, goals, and interests. Here are some questions to consider that may help you determine if art therapy is a good fit for you:
Do you enjoy expressing yourself creatively through art?
- Have you experienced challenges that you would like to process and work through?
Are you interested in exploring new ways of understanding yourself and your emotions?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, art therapy may be a helpful approach to consider. An art therapist can help you understand how art therapy works and what to expect from the process, and can help you determine whether art therapy would be a good fit for you based on your individual needs and goals.
