Individuals with a chronic medical condition and/or developmental delay face the double task of coping with their phase of life developmental demands as well as coping with illness needs.  One may encounter special circumstances in which there is a need to navigate the sometimes confusing and overwhelming environment of the medical world.  Our expertise can help reduce fear associated with hospital or medical procedures, learn more about medical illness management, incorporate coping strategies, developmental delay and adjustment/adaptation needs, practice pain management, and improve adherence to medication and treatment plans of care.   

Our providers have extensive experience helping individuals with medically related concerns, chronic illnesses, as well as acute and long-term injuries.  They have trained and provided services across a number of settings including Duke University Medical Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Emory University’s School of Medicine Grady Health System, Staten Island University Hospital, A. I. duPont Hospital for Children, Voorhees Pediatric Facility, and Weisman Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital.
